Medic One/EMS is the world-class emergency medical system serving 2.3 million people across Seattle & King County since the early 1970s.
WHAT IS MEDIC ONE?
BY THE NUMBERS
- Responds to an emergency every 2 minutes
- 250,000+ calls handled by EMTs in 2024
- 48,000+ critical emergencies treated by paramedics
- Cardiac arrest survival rate that’s 2–3 times higher than other cities

Proposition 1 is an EMS Levy that asks voters to renew a six-year property tax to maintain Medic One service.
Under the proposed levy rate, it would cost King County taxpayers only 25 cents per $1,000 of property value. For an $850,000 home, it costs about $212 per year.
